Between Reardan and Spokane

East of Reardan the old highway veered to the right just past S. Green St. onto what is now Brommer Road. The highway then followed Brommer Road and then merged with what is now Alexander Road. Just before Highway 2, the old highway curved to the right onto what in now called S. Carstens Road. Following the section line the highway curved to the left and follows the section line all the way to Spokane.

Along this section of old highway, you can still see the original concrete pavement. The highway still feels like it is 1919 when road crews began to pave this section of the highway. After each shift the road crew would stamp the day's date into the wet concrete. You can also find date stamps in the concrete from Cashmere to Dryden.
